CHARACTER INTERPRETATION
» Appearance: Itachi has long black hair that is always kept back in a pony tail. Long bangs frame his face which shows age lines that go far beyond that of his young years, mostly due to the stress the Sharingan puts on him. His eyes are usually red with a black design when his Sharingan is activated. When resting, his eyes are a plain black but he typically keeps the Sharingan active most of the time. He stands 5'8" with a strong body that is often hidden beneath a long cloak. He weights just under 130 pounds.

» Orientation: Unknown. It was only stated in the manga that Itachi had a lover when he was still in the village but it never went into any more detail then that. It is unknown what the gender of the person was. You don't see Itachi ever express any sort of feelings for anyone except for his brother.

Itachi is a highly complex person, whose real purposes of doing things were pretty much only known to himself. In the beginning, he comes off as cold and calculating and is highly intelligent as shown by how quickly he went through the ranks of the ninja when he was growing up. Itachi rarely shows emotion and keeps his composure even when surprised or irritated. He is also very confident in his abilities which is shown with each enemy he faces. He never shows hesitation. In addition to being an extremely powerful ninja, Itachi has equally impressive intelligence. He is exceedingly sharp and observant to any situation at hand which makes him a dangerous opponent. Despite being a criminal known for his violent acts, Itachi seems to take no enjoyment in violence or combat, instead preferring to avoid battle or end it as quickly as he can.
Cold with everyone, even his own family, the only person that was able to approach him enough to get a smile out of him was Sasuke whom he seemed to care deeply about. This soon changed when Itachi swept through the Uchiha compound and killed everyone except for his little brother. He told Sasuke that it was because Sasuke was weak and not worth killing, but in truth the Uchiha were planned a Coup against Konoha and so Itachi was forced to stop them, while still protecting the one person he loved more then anyone else..Sasuke. From that point on, Itachi is hostile towards Sasuke. When Sasuke confronts Itachi years after the massacre, Itachi breaks Sasuke's arm and ridicules him for still being weak. But this is all a lie as he actually cares very deeply for his younger brother and only wants him to be safe. Itachi merely wants to make sure that Sasuke kept his resolve to have his revenge on him. It is later revealed that even the murder of his best friend was a calculated move that was not done out of hatred, but out of necessity and because of the mission given to him by Konoha. Itachi is always bound by duty, and doing what is best for his village more so then looking out for his own best interests. All he wants is to protect his brother and the village of Konoha, both of which he loves more then anything else. He made the elders promise to take care of Sasuke once his mission of destroying the Uchiha was complete.
Because of his actions, Itachi is a missing-nin and one of the strongest members of the group known as the Akatsuki. Akatsuki is an group of missing-nin that were brought together to try and gain even more power, mostly through capturing the individuals that have "tailed" demons trapped inside of them. Their goal with this is to gain the power to put the world into a genjutsu and create a form of 'peace'. Though this fact is not known to many outside of the organization, or even many of the members. Each of the Akatsuki were given one of the individuals to catch and it is Itachi's job to capture Naruto with his partner Kisame Hoshigaki but throughout the manga, Itachi fails to capture Naruto and it even appears that he has no real intention to do so as he lets Naruto go on several occasions. It is obvious that Itachi does not share the same aspirations as the group but is doing his best to hide that. It's one of the ways that the manga shows that Itachi is not truly the bad person that he tries to make himself out to be.
Itachi is cool, controlled, and rational. All of these things are seen in all of his battles, and even his conversations with his fellow Akatsuki members. He doens't appear to care for anyone and he only gets a softer expression when around Kisame, whom he actually trusts within the organization. For the most part however, he stays fairly independent of the others and remains on his own, often going out on his own missions with his own agendas that he keeps hidden from the other members. No one questions him since he is one of the strongest and holds no qualms about defeating the other members of Akatsuki if they threaten him. That makes him fairly unpopular as well, particularly with Orochimaru and Deidara, both of whom he defeated at different points. Itachi gives the appearance of being perfectly alone. It seems like he does not need to care about anybody, and he does not need others to care for him.
Itachi is mysterious and hides his true self as well as his intentions and reasons for his actions. No one seems to understand why he has done the things he has done. Often the exterior he shows is nothing more then an act to fool those around him. Itachi possesses incredible self-control of his emotions. He constantly displays an emotionless personality. He only showed surprise when opponents proved more powerful or skilled than he had expected, and even then he didn't lose his composure. Itachi is also dying. It is something he manages to hide from nearly everyone with only Madara and Kisame having any knowledge of it. There isn't any explanation for the illness, or what the cause of it is, but the fact is that the medication he takes can only keep him alive for so long. It is out of pure will that Itachi has survived for as long as he has.

If this is a genjutsu, I commend you on your skill. [Dark eyes scan the area outside the window before looking down at the device again.] No, this is reality. But not the reality I was just in.
As an opponent you must be quite strong. It takes a good deal of skill to apprehend a member of Akatsuki, particularly one of my level.

I would very much appreciate knowing why and how I've come to be in this place. The collar upon my neck appears to be restricting my abilities, so you apparently know more about me then I know about you. Do not think that this puts you at an advantage.

He had put off doing what this world required it's inhabitants to do but it seemed he was going to have to face the facts..there was no getting out of having sex. The collar was painful around his neck, nearly cutting off his air supply at this point. He walked down the hallway slowly, keeping a hand on the wall for support as he went in search of the communication device. He was going to need to contact someone. This was a problem that needed to be solved and he clearly couldn't do it himself. As much as he hated to rely on others, he could not fight this any longer.
Itachi was not shy or afraid of sex. He had a lover once before, many years ago. But that had been different. It was one thing to engage in an activity with someone that you trust, but to rely on strangers or those that didn't trust you back, was something Itachi would have rather liked to avoid. Unfortunately, there was nearly no one on this world he trusted enough with this task. It was going to be difficult for the ninja to just accept that he had to give in to the whims of the island's goddess.
As he entered the living area, Itachi slumped into a chair, taking a hold of the communicator in his hand. He knew how to control his breathing, to prolong his life as long as he could. He had done that for years. Fighting against death while he tried to steal him away from his duties. This was no different then the life threatening disease that still ravaged his body on a daily basis.
Opening the device, Itachi stared at the names on the contact list for a moment before pressing the button. He hated that he had to resort to such a means of relief. But he would not die in this place. Not from something so ridiculous as not having sex. He already knew how he was going to die and this was not it. Itachi could be stubborn and refuse to give in, but he also knew when it was the smarter choice to give up.
As the face came onto the screen, Itachi's expression was serious. "I require assistance. It is your choice to agree or not, but it would be appreciated." Itachi knew when to be humble and appreciative when the time required him to be. He wasn't a cold person..in fact he was far more sensitive and caring then he let people believe. But it was only a select few that were allowed to see that side of him. Part of the reason he had resisted this kind of activity was because it allowed people to see you at your most vulnerable. And Itachi could not allow that.
As he waited for a response, Itachi closed his eyes and slowed his breathing. He could control his body enough to survive until he found a willing partner.
